Orobanche crenata Forssk.
Stem up to 50(–80) cm, hardly swollen at base, yellowish-white, rarely purple. Leaves lanceolate, up to 30 mm long, densely glandular-pubescent. Inflorescence cylindrical, longer than remaining stem, many-flowered. Bracts narrowly lanceolate, long-acuminate, equalling or exceeding flower. Calyx segments equalling corolla tube, 2-toothed. Corolla wide, campanulate, papery, whitish, often with bluish-violet veins. Upper lip entire or emarginate; lobes very broad, patent or recurved, plicate. Middle lobe of lower lip usually larger than the lateral, crenulate-dentate and glabrous at margin. Stamens inserted (2–)3(–5) mm above base of corolla tube, densely hairy below. Stigma pale violet to whitish. On various hosts (often Fabaceae), also cultivated plants.
