Polygala venulosa Sm.
Small perennial, woody at base, with ascending stems 5–25 cm tall. Leaves alternate, sessile, the lower narrowly obovate, the upper elliptic-lanceolate, acute. Flowers in dense terminal racemes, lengthening to 6–10 cm in fruit. Pedicels 1–1.5 mm. Inner sepals (wings) 6–8 × c. 4 mm, elliptic-obovate, whitish or lilac with green, branched and ± anastomosing veins. Corolla pale pinkish or mauve, distinctly exceeding wings. Capsule 5–6 × 4–5 mm, on a short carpophore, flat, obcordate, winged.
