Ranunculus millefoliatus Vahl

Subglabrous or sparsely pubescent perennial with a cluster of ovoid, acute root tubers mixed with longer fibrous roots. Stems 1–3, erect, 10–30 cm tall, usually simple. Blade of basal leaves triangular-ovate in outline, 2- or 3-pinnatisect into numerous, linear-lanceolate segments c. 1 mm wide. Cauline leaves few and reduced. Sepals appressed. Petals usually 5, 9–14 mm, obovate, bright yellow. Fruiting head 12–18 × c. 4.5 mm, dense, cylindrical. Body of achene c. 2.5 × 2.5 mm, compressed, minutely pitted, with a narrow greenish wing confluent with hooked beak 1–1.5 mm.
