Orobanche pubescens d'Urv.
Stem 10–60 cm tall, swollen at base, densely glandular-pubescent and soft-pilose throughout. Leaves oblong, erecto-patent, long-hairy like stem and bracts. Inflorescence cylindrical, usually many-flowered. Bracts lanceolate, equalling or exceeding flower. Calyx segments entire to unequally bidentate; teeth narrow, often filiform towards apex, ± equalling corolla tube. Corolla 10–15(–20) mm, tubular, slightly curved, ± straight in the middle part, yellowish to violet-brown, sometimes uniformly yellowish-white (f. homochroma Beck), villous to arachnoid especially outside on upper lip. Upper lip usually entire or plicate-emarginate. Lobes of lower lip plicate, crenate or denticulate, glabrous at margin. Stamens inserted 3–4 mm above base of corolla tube, villous in lower half. Stigma lilac, violet or bluish. On a wide variety of host plants (Crithmum, Cynara, Glebionis, Hymenocarpos, Malabaila, Melissa, Orlaya, Otanthus, Pseudorlaya, Scandix, Sedum, Smyrnium, Symphytum and Trifolium have been reported in Greece).
