Μπόραγο το φαρμακευτικό (Borago officinalis L.)

Robust annual 20–60 cm tall, sparsely hispid throughout with white, somewhat prickly bristles. Stem rather fleshy, moderately branched. Lower leaves petiolate; blade 4–10 cm, ovate. Flowers in lax, bracteate cymes, nodding at anthesis. Calyx divided almost to base into linearlanceolate lobes. Corolla rotate, bright blue, 20–28 mm in diam. Faucal scales erect, thick, whitish. Filaments short, thick; anthers connivent into a narrow, erect cone, blackish-blue. Nutlets 4–5 mm, ovoid, ventrally keeled, with a basal collar.
