Senecio leucanthemifolius: Subglabrous or sparsely floccose annual, usually with several slender, ascending, simple or sparingly branched stems 5–25 cm. Leaves broadly oblanceolate in outline, slightly fleshy, coarsely dentate to pinnatisect, the lower sometimes obovate and scarcely divided, the upper with linear-oblong segments. Involucre 6–8 mm. Supplementary phyllaries 5–10. Ligules 6–12, yellow above, reddish beneath. Achenes 2–3 mm, 8–10-ribbed, pubescent between the ribs; pappus c. 5 mm.

Το Senecio vernalis μοιάζει με το S. leucanthemifolius (και απο κάποιους θεωρείται υποείδος), αλλά διαφέρει στα ακόλουθα: Generally larger and more robust, with a single main stem; young plant usually arachnoidlanate; lower leaves broadly oblanceolate, pinnatifid with rounded, denticulate segments; capitula more numerous; involucre 8–10 mm.
