Η κοινή-κοινότατη Αμυγδαλιά, με καταγωγή την Κεντρική και ΝΔ Ασία, καλλιεργείται ευρέως για τον πεντανόστιμο καρπό και συναντάται συχνά-πυκνά, αδέσποτη, πάντα δίπλα σε κατοικημένες περιοχές. Unarmed shrub or small tree, occasionally up to 10 m. Twigs reddish-black to dark brown, glabrous. Petiole 5–15 mm, usually pubescent; leaf blade 25–55 mm, ovate-elliptical to obovate, subacute to obtuse, crenate-serrate, pubescent on midrib beneath. Flowers 1(–2), appearing just before the leaves; pedicels 2–8(–20) mm, glabrous. Petals 10–11 mm, white. Drupe 20–30 mm, pendent, globose or ovoid-oblong, yellow, red or violet, pruinose.

Intricately branched, ± thorny deciduous shrub 1–3 m tall, rarely a small tree up to 4 m. Twigs glabrous, brownish-yellow or dark brown. Leaf blade 15–35 mm, lanceolate or narrowly oblong, shallowly crenate-serrate, both surfaces bright green and glabrous, or the lower sparsely hairy; petiole 5–11 mm. Flowers 1 or 2 on short pedicels. Petals 9–13 mm, pale rose-pink; calyx and lower part of filaments often more intensely purplish-pink. Drupe 12–25 mm, compressed, narrowly ovoid, greyish-tomentose; mesocarp coriaceous, splitting at maturity; endocarp pitted.

High-arching shrub forming dense thickets. Stem robust, angled, pruinose and usually stellate-pubescent. Prickles strong and broad-based, curved, usually dark red with yellowish apex; acicles and stalked glands absent. Leaves (3–)5-foliolate; leaflets broadly obovate, not contiguous, usually sparsely pubescent above and densely white-tomentose beneath; terminal leaflet long-stalked. Inflorescence usually narrow, conical. Sepals white-tomentose. Petals c. 10 mm, suborbicular, pale to deep pink. Fruit consisting of small and rather dry druplets, blackish when ripe.

Large deciduous shrub or more often a stout, somewhat thorny tree 3–7 m tall. Twigs tomentose, glabrescent. Leaf blade usually 20–50 mm, 2–4 times as long as wide, lanceolate to narrowly obovate, obscurely crenate towards apex, dark green and subglabrous above, tomentose beneath when young. Flowers in small, umbel-like racemes. Petals 8–15 mm, spreading, white, not contiguous. Stamens shorter than petals; anthers dark red or purple. Fruit 12–24 mm in diam., globose or depressed-globose, yellowish-brown when ripe, with a very astringent taste; pedicel 12–25 mm, stout, glabrescent.

Αυτό το πολύ όμορφο δέντρο στόλιζε συνήθως τις άκρες χωραφιών αποτελώντας ιδανικό καταφύγιο για πουλιά. Τώρα έχει 2-3 απο εδώ και απο εκεί, οι φωτογραφίες είναι απο την Αγ.Τριάδα.
