Valerianella costata (Steven) Betcke
Valerianella carinata: Stem 8–20 cm tall, with 1–3 dichotomies, whole plant subglabrous. Lower leaves usually persistent in fruiting individuals, spathulate, obtuse. Cauline leaves usually 15–30 mm, oblong, subentire. Inflorescence hemispherical at anthesis, laxly sphaerical in fruit, subtended by rather conspicuous, oblong uppermost leaves equalling or exceeding inflorescence. Bracts oblong-oblanceolate, herbaceous. Calyx absent or present only as a short continuation of the fertile carpel. Fruit oblong, c. twice as long as broad, somewhat curved, obtusely 4-angled, glabrous; fertile loculus somewhat wider than the sterile ones and separated from them by a groove. Fruits soon deciduous.
Resembling V. carinata, but basal leaves usually withered in fruiting individuals; fruit-bearing internodes often thickened above; fruits in dense terminal clusters and usually also individual in dichotomies; fruit somewhat longer than wide, papillose, with a conspicuous block of spongy tissue behind the fertile loculus.
Μπορεί να είναι και η V. carinata. Περισσότερες πληροφορίες στα Χλωρίδα μας (η carinata), Φυτολόγιο, greekflora.gr, Flora of Greece.
