Scandix australis L. subsp. australis

Slender, erect annual, 10–40 cm tall. Leaves 1–3-pinnate with linear ultimate segments c. 1 mm wide. Rays (2–)3–5, spreading, slender, not thickening in fruit. Bracts lacking; bractlets elliptic-lanceolate, sometimes toothed at apex, ± ciliate. Petals white, the outer scarcely longer than the inner in subsp. australis, much longer and clearly radiant in subsp. grandiflora (L.) Thell. Fruit 15–40 mm; beak at least twice as long as seed-bearing part and scarcely compressed; styles c. 0.5 mm.
