Aptenia cordifolia (L. f.) Schwantes
Short-lived perennial, procumbent, much-branched and ± mat-forming, generally 20–40 cm tall. Leaves opposite, somewhat succulent, flat, ovate with cordate base. Flowers solitary, pedunculate, c. 2 cm in diam., bright magenta pink. Petals and stamens numerous; stigmas 4.
