Neotinea maculata (Desf.) Stearn
Plant small and slender, generally 8–20 cm tall. Lower 2–4 leaves forming a rosette, elliptical, sometimes with undulate margins, usually with dark spots; 2 or 3 cauline leaves sheathing stem up to 2/3. Spike 2–7 × 1–1.5 cm, dense, cylindrical, sometimes secund. Flowers pale greenish or dull pink. Sepals and petals connivent to form a hood, narrowly ovate, subobtuse. Labellum 4–5 mm; middle lobe twice as long as the lateral, broadly oblong, emarginate. Spur c. 2 mm, broadly conical.
