Abutilon theophrasti Medik.
Erect annual, sparingly branched, 50–100 cm tall, soft-puberulent throughout. Hairs on stem mostly simple, patent, glandular and eglandular, those on leaves thin, stellate, eglandular. Leaves long-petiolate; blade large (up to 20 cm), suborbicular, cordate at base, shortly acuminate, shallowly crenate. Flowers in short, few-flowered cymes in upper leaf axils. Epicalyx absent. Petals 7–13 mm, orange-yellow. Fruit a schizocarp; mericarps c. 13 in a single whorl, 15–20 mm, horned, pilose, finally black.
