Limonium echioides (L.) Mill.
Annual with slender taproot. Basal leaves in a flat rosette, usually 2–5 cm, narrowly obovate to spathulateoblanceolate, obtuse, rather thin, dark green, glaucous or reddish, often glandular-tuberculate. Stems slender, moderately branched with cauline leaves reduced to ± scarious scales. Inflorescence with long, lax spikes of 1-or 2-flowered spikelets. Inner bracts tuberculate, strongly involute. Midrib of calyx teeth extended into an uncinate awn. Corolla pink or pale lilac. A sexually reproducing, autogamous species with 2n = 18
