Astragalus sinaicus Boiss.
Annual, usually branched from base, 3–12(–20) cm, sparsely white-pilose. Leaves imparipinnate; leaflets 6–10 pairs; stipules connate to form a sheath. Inflorescence sessile or subsessile in leaf axils (rarely with peduncle up to 4 cm), consisting of 3–7 subsessile flowers crowded into a dense head. Calyx 4–6 mm; teeth with black and white hairs. Corolla pale violet or mauve; standard 6.5–8 mm. Legumes spreading to form a star; each legume 8–12(–16) × 3–4 mm, somewhat gibbous at base, with dimorphic indumentum.
