Phleum exaratum Griseb.
Annual; culms 5–20 cm, solitary or often tufted, geniculately ascending to erect. Leaf sheaths glabrous; blade usually flat, 2–4 mm wide; ligule long (3–5 mm), membranous. Panicle usually 2–6 cm, dense, broadly cylindrical. Glumes 3–4.5 mm, conspicuously ciliate on keel, gradually narrowed to a short awn. Anthers 1.5–2.0 mm.
