Erect, much-branched shrub 1–3 m tall. Branches and twigs slender, terete, grooved, green. Leaves simple, narrowly elliptical, few and deciduous. Flowers large and showy, sweet-scented, in lax terminal racemes. Calyx short, ± cup-shaped. Corolla 20–30 mm, bright yellow; keel beaked. Stamens monadelphous. Legume 5–8 cm, linear-oblong, compressed, glabrescent; seeds 12–20.
