Bellardia latifolia (L.) Cuatrec. συν.:  Parentucellia latifolia Caruel

Erect annual, 4–12(–25) cm tall; stem simple or sparingly branched from base, glandular-pilose, often purplish. Cauline leaves 2–5 pairs, remote above, 4–15 mm, sessile, broadly oblong-ovate, coarsely serrate, glandular-pilose. Flowers in a dense, spike-like raceme with leaflike bracts often tinged purple. Calyx teeth half as long as tube. Corolla 10–12 mm, usually reddish-purple with 2 yellow gibbosities on palate of lower lip, occasionally yellow or white. Capsule c. 10 × 3 mm, subglabrous.
