Cerastium brachypetalum subsp. atheniense (Lonsing) P.D. Sell & Whitehead
Ascending to erect annual, 5–25 cm tall. Cauline leaves elliptical, subacute. Inflorescence lax, dichasial; pedicels longer than calyx and bent just below it. Bracts herbaceous. Sepals with at least some eglandular hairs extending well beyond apex. Petals ± bifid. Capsule 6–10 mm, straight or slightly curved above. Seeds 0.5–0.8 mm, with short, acute tubercles.
Subsp. atheniense (Lonsing) P. D. Sell & Whitehead: Like subsp. tenoreanum, but upper part of stem and pedicels with patent to deflexed hairs; capsule not or only slightly exceeding sepals; seeds 0.6–0.8 mm. Attiki and Evvia.
