Crocus laevigatus Bory & Chaub.
Corm ovoid, 8–15 mm in diam.; tunics coriaceous, smooth, rather dark brown, splitting at base into triangular teeth or fibres. Leaves 3–4(–6), present at anthesis, 1–2.5 mm wide, dark green with conspicuous white middle stripe. Flowers 1–3, appearing in October–February; perianth segments broadly oblanceolate, subobtuse, lilac or white, the outer usually with violet stripes externally; throat yellow, glabrous. Anthers white. Style divided into several slender, orange or yellow branches usually exceeding anthers but shorter than perianth segments.
