Σκορτσονέρα η κροκόφυλλη (Scorzonera crocifolia Sm.)
Caespitose, subglabrous perennial. Rootstock cylindrical, not obviously tuberous. Base of plant clothed with remains of old leaves. Stems several, suberect, usually 25–45 cm, simple. Leaves mostly basal, numerous, grasslike, up to 25 cm, with sheathing base and broad, pale midrib beneath. Phyllaries few, the inner narrowly lanceolate, c. 20 mm in flower, up to 35 mm in fruit. Ligules yellow, 1.5–2 times as long as inner phyllaries. Achenes cylindrical, glabrous, the outer with scabrid ribs, the inner with smooth ribs; pappus dingy white, of plumose hairs.
