Colchicum cupanii Guss.

Corm c. 2 cm, ovoid; outer tunics dark brown, coriaceous, extended into a short neck. Leaves 2(–3), well developed and usually 30–60 × 3–7 mm at anthesis, later up to 20 × 2 cm, fresh green, usually glabrous. Perianth tube slender, at least twice as long as segments, whitish, sheathed by cataphyll in lower third or half; segments c. 20 mm, oblong to narrowly elliptical, obtuse to subacute, purplish-pink, usually with distinct parallel veins. Anthers 2–3 mm, brownish-purple with yellow pollen. Styles straight, with punctiform stigma.
