Filago gallica L.
Slender, erect, silvery-tomentose annual; stem usually 10–30 cm, ± dichotomously branched in upper half. Leaves numerous, subappressed, 15–25 mm, linearlanceolate, with ± involute margins. Capitula in small clusters of 3–10, mostly terminal and in branch forks, distinctly exceeded by linear-lanceolate, acuminate subtending leaves. Phyllaries saccate at base, stellately spreading in fruit. Outer receptacular scales enclosing the corresponding floret. Pappus of silky, white hairs c. 3 times as long as achene.
