Vicia sibthorpii Boiss.

Perennial with a slender woody stock, greyish-green and villous throughout. Stems suberect, sparingly branched, generally 30–50 cm tall. Leaves 7–12-paired; stipules simple or sagittate, narrowly lanceolate; leaflets oblong to narrowly elliptical, acute to apiculate; tendril simple. Peduncles equalling or exceeding subtending leaf. Racemes lax, 8–25-flowered. Calyx campanulate, gibbous; teeth unequal, the longest slightly shorter than tube, the upper very short and broad. Corolla 12–17 mm, bluish-purple, often with paler wings. Legume densely villous, tapering ± symmetrically at both ends; stipe equalling calyx. Seeds 4–8.
