Spiranthes spiralis (L.) Chevall.
Plant slender, 20–35 cm tall, with 2 or 3 relatively large, napiform root tubers. Non-flowering rosette appressed, with glistening green leaves, ± withered at anthesis. Cauline leaves sheath-like, green. Upper part of stem and inflorescence axis densely and shortly patent-pubescent. Spike 3–10 cm, slender, spirally twisted, 10–20-flowered. Flowers white to pale yellowish-green. Lateral sepals 6–7 mm, lanceolate, patent. Middle sepal and petals connivent to form a tube enclosing the column. Labellum 6–8 mm, obovate, with undulate-crenulate margins. Spur absent.
