Phleum subulatum (Savi) Asch. & Graebn.
Annual; culms solitary or tufted, 10–25 cm, geniculately ascending to erect. Leaf sheaths glabrous, the uppermost slightly inflated; ligule 2.5–5 mm, acute; blade 1–4 mm wide, with scabridulous veins. Panicle cylindrical, ± rounded below and narrowed above, pale or whitish-green, dense with branches partly adnate to main axis. Glumes 2.5–4 mm, semi-elliptical, gradually tapering to a short awn; keel usually glabrous. Anthers 1.5–2 mm.
