Orchis anthropophora (L.) All.
Plant slender, 15–40 cm tall. Basal leaves 3–5, forming an indistinct rosette, oblong-lanceolate, subacute, fresh green, unspotted; cauline leaves sheathing lower 2/3 of stem. Spike narrowly cylindrical, with 20–40 small flowers. Bracts minute, membranous. Sepals and petals all connivent to form a forward-directed hood, ovate, subobtuse, usually dull green with brownish-purple margins. Labellum at least twice as long as hood, pendent, with 2 linear-oblong lateral lobes and a longer middle lobe distally divided into 2 slender segments, yellowish-brown or pale purplish. Spur lacking.
