Linaria chalepensis (L.) Mill.
Slender, glabrous annual. Short, delicate creeping shoots bearing opposite, narrowly elliptical leaves sometimes present at base. Main stem erect, 15–40 cm tall, simple or sparingly branched. Lower cauline leaves usually opposite, the upper alternate, all linear-lanceolate. Flowers in a lax, bracteate raceme; pedicels 1–2 mm at anthesis. Calyx teeth linear-lanceolate, unequal (usually 4 long and 1 short). Corolla white or cream; upper lip 4–5 mm, deeply 2-lobed; the lower somewhat longer, 3-lobed; spur 8–11 mm slender, curved. Capsule c. 5 mm, broadly ovoid, exceeded by persistent calyx. Seeds c. 1 mm, angular, rugose-pitted.
