Plant usually more or less hispid; stem 15-150 cm, erect, branched. Basal and lower cauline leaves lyrate; upper usually entire. Sepals 5-10 mm, elliptic-lanceolate, obtuse; petals about twice as long as the sepals, white, yellow, lilac or violet. Pedicels 1-5 cm in fruit. Siliqua erecto-patent. Seeds 1·5-4 mm, ovoid to subglobose, usually reticulate. (Περιγραφή απο Flora Europaea)
Annual or biennial, ± hispid at base. Stem 15–70 cm, sparingly branched, often suffused purple towards base. Basal and lower cauline leaves lyrate-pinnatifid or lobed. Inflorescence a lax, ebracteate raceme. Pedicels ascending to erect, slightly swollen in fruit. Petals 8–25 mm, white, lilac-mauve or pale yellow, with purple veins. Fruit cylindrical, 15–60 × 3–9 mm, conspicuously constricted  between the seeds to form 2–12 segments. (Περιγραφή απο Strid)
