Polypogon viridis (Gouan) Breistr.
Stoloniferous perennial, sometimes rooting at the lower nodes. Culms geniculately ascending, usually 15–40 cm, with 2–4 dark nodes. Leaf sheaths tightly clasping, the uppermost usually well below panicle; ligule 2–4 mm; blade flat, soft, 3–7 mm wide. Panicle lax to moderately dense, distinctly lobed, with numerous small, 1-flowered spikelets. Glumes 1.5–2.2 mm, subequal, lanceolate, scabridulous, without awn. Lemma c. 1 mm, denticulate, without awn.
