Bromus hordeaceus L.
Slender annual, often single-stemmed, very variable in size but generally 10–40 cm tall; whole plant ± soft-pubescent. Leaf blade 3–5 mm wide, flat. Panicle rather dense, ovoid to oblong-elliptical, usually pale greenish; pedicels suberect, filiform, shorter than their spikelet. Spikelets 10–15 mm (excl. awns), narrowly elliptical, 5–8-flowered. Lemma 7–9 mm, narrowly elliptical, usually 5-veined; awn subapical, straight, ± equalling lemma. Anthers less than 1 mm.
