Tripolium pannonicum (Jacq.) Dobrocz. x Aster tripolium
Subglabrous biennial or short-lived perennial. Stem ascending to erect, 20–80 cm tall, slender, sparingly branched. Leaves linear-lanceolate, entire, ± fleshy, the upper small and widely spaced. Capitula usually few, in lax corymbs. Phyllaries purplish, the inner c. 8 mm, oblong, obtuse. Ligules distinctly exceeding phyllaries (rarely small or absent), bluish to lilac. Disc golden yellow. Achenes 3–4 mm, obovate, compressed; pappus of scabrid hairs, much elongating after anthesis, finally c. 12 mm.
