Tamarix smyrnensis Bunge
Glabrous shrub or small tree 2–4 m tall, with reddishbrown bark. Leaves 1.5–3.5 mm, lanceolate, acute. Racemes several, the lateral usually 20–35 × c. 3 mm, the terminal somewhat larger. Bracts acute, denticulate, exceeding pedicel. Flowers 5-merous, small. Petals c. 2 mm, ovate-orbicular, keeled especially in lower half, pinkish. Filaments inserted below sinuses of disc.
