Opopanax hispidus (Friv.) Griseb.
Stout, erect perennial 1–2.5 m tall, with ± whorled branches in upper part. Lower leaves 2-pinnate; ultimate segments 3–6 cm, elliptic-ovate, often asymmetrical, serrate; petiole and underside of leaf with short, stiff, branched hairs. Rays 5–15; bracts and bractlets inconspicuous. Petals yellow. Fruit compressed dorsally, 7–10 mm, broadly elliptic-obovate, with pale, slightly thickened wings 1.5–2 mm wide.
