Blackstonia perfoliata (L.) Huds.
Slender, erect, unbranched or sparingly branched, glaucous annual 10–40(–60) cm tall. Basal leaves crowded into an irregular rosette. Cauline leaves remote, opposite, amplexicaul, ovate, acute. Inflorescence a rather lax, few-flowered terminal dichasium with erect branches. Pedicels slender. Flowers usually 8-merous. Calyx divided almost to base into linear-filiform lobes. Corolla bright to golden yellow, with a short tube and narrowly elliptic-obovate lobes 6–16 mm. Styles united for c. 1.5 mm.
