Trifolium cherleri L.
Decumbent to ascending annual, 5–15(–25) cm, usually branched from base, ± patent-pilose throughout. Stipules whitish, with distinct ribs; free part short, herbaceous. Leaflets small, obovate to obcordate, shallowly dentate in front. Heads depressed-globose, 8–12 mm in diam., with upper stipules forming a conspicuously veined involucre. Calyx tube 20-veined, densely hirsute; teeth setaceous, pilose. Corolla cream to pale pinkish, ± equalling calyx. Fruiting head readily abscissing below involucre and dispersed as a unit.
