Κυνόδους ο δάκτυλος (Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.)
Perennial with long, creeping rhizomes and stolons rooting at the nodes and producing ascending to suberect flowering culms 15–30 cm. Leaf blades flat; ligule replaced by a line of hairs. Inflorescence of 3–5 digitately arranged, narrowly linear spikes usually 3–5 cm long. Spikelets 2–2.5 mm, all subsessile on one side of the angular or flattened rhachis, 1-flowered. Glumes subequal, somewhat shorter than lemma, the latter coriaceous, keeled, without awn.
