Reichardia picroides (L.) Roth
Perennial with a stout woody stock. Lower leaves oblanceolate in outline, pinnatifid to remotely dentate, green to glaucous, glabrous or somewhat papillose. Stems ascending to erect, 15–50 cm, simple or sparingly branched. Peduncles long, slender, with small, scale-like leaves, thickened just below capitulum. Involucre broadly campanulate, 12–20 mm wide. Phyllaries imbricate, the outer triangular-ovate, with narrow scarious margins (c. 0.5 mm). Ligules yellow on both sides or greyishgreen beneath. Outer achenes 4- or 5-angled and transversely rugose, the inner smooth; pappus of soft, simple hairs.
