Hypochaeris cretensis: Biennal with rather stout taproot; stems 1-several, sparingly branched, 20–70 cm tall. Most leaves in a basal rosette, dentate or usually runcinate-pinnatifid. Stem usually with 1 well-developed leaf and some bract-like. Peduncle ± glabrous. Phyllaries in 2 rows, subglabrous, minutely tomentose or slightly hispid. Receptacle with long scales. Ligules lemon yellow above, with greyish or pale red stripe beneath. Achenes brown, beaked, a few of the outer with short pappus, the others with pappus of one row of long, plumose hairs.

Hypochaeris glabra: Annual with slender taproot; stems usually several, unbranched or occasionally with 1 or 2 branches, 10–30 cm tall. Leaves in a basal rosette, oblanceolate, remotely dentate, sparsely pubescent at least on margins. Cauline leaves very small and bract-like. Involucre ± cylindrical, glabrous. Phyllaries imbricate in several series, lanceolate, much expanding in fruit. Ligules short, lemon yellow. Receptacle with long scales. Achenes usually dimorphic, the outer short and unbeaked, the inner longer, beaked; pappus of 2 rows of hairs, the inner long and plumose.

Hypochaeris radicata: Perennial, with a short rhizome bearing thickened roots. Stem(s) 25–60 cm, sparingly branched. Leaves in a flat basal rosette, oblanceolate, irregularly and obtusely sinuate-dentate, usually hispidulous on both sides. Cauline leaves very small and bract-like. Involucre narrowly campanulate. Phyllaries imbricate in several series, lanceolate, ± setose on back. Ligules lemon yellow. Receptacle with long scales. Outer achenes shorter than inner, but all usually with long, slender beak; pappus of few short, simple outer hairs and many longer, plumose inner hairs.

Σίγουρα το φυτό στις φωτογραφίες που ακολουθούν δεν είναι ούτε Hypochaeris achyrophorus, ούτε κάποιο άλλο που περιλαμβάνεται στο ιστολόγιο. Αν είναι Hypochaeris θα είναι ένα απο τα παραπάνω είδη που περιγράφονται απο Στερεά Ελλάδα.
