Οφρύς η σφηκάφερη (Ophrys tenthredinifera Willd.)

Plant compact to relatively slender, 10–30 cm tall, with (1–)3–6(–10) flowers in a rather dense spike. Sepals relatively large (10–13 mm), broadly elliptical, pale to deep violet-pink or occasionally whitish, spreading or somewhat reflexed. Petals 4–6 mm, broadly triangular, velvety or shaggy, same colour as sepals. Labellum 10–18 mm, rounded-squarish, about as broad as long, entire, ± shaggy especially along margins and usually with a prominent tuft of hairs near apex; ground colour brown, usually with broad yellowish margins; apex emarginate, with a forward-directed triangular point; mirror distinct, consisting of a rather small, H- or horseshoe-shaped figure. Column rounded.
