Ranunculus sprunerianus Boiss.
Perennial with thickened roots or fusiform-cylindrical tubers. Stem erect, 20–40 cm tall, simple below, divaricately branched above, pilose, rarely subglabrous. Basal leaves long-petiolate; petiole patent-pilose; blade orbicular in outline, deeply 3–5-partite with rounded incisions, segments fanning out above with short crenate lobes. Cauline leaves reduced, subsessile, with narrow lobes. Sepals appressed. Petals 10–15 mm, bright yellow. Fruiting head 10–15 × 7–10 mm, broadly cylindrical. Body of achene compressed, broadly and obliquely obovate, with tubercles or tubercle-based hairs, keeled or narrowly winged, attenuate into falcate beak of same length.
