Cyclamen graecum Link (Κυκλάμινο)

Cyclamen hederifolium: Tuber depressed-globose, up to 10(–25) cm in diam., corky, with roots both from the sides and base. Leaves usually developing at the same time as flowers. Leaf blade 4–10 cm, ± ovate with cordate base and a few shallow, angular lobes, dark green, usually greyish- or silvery-marbled in very variable patterns. Pedicels slender, generally 10–20 cm. Corolla pink to purplish-pink, with prominent swollen and often somewhat darker appendages (auricles) at the point of inflexion; lobes 15–22 mm, oblong-obovate, often somewhat twisted. Fruiting pedicel coiling from the apex. Capsule ripening in the following summer.
Resembling C. hederifolium, but growing in drier and more open, rocky habitats; tuber subglobose, with roots from lower centre; leaves developing with or just after the flowers; blade of a firm texture, broadly ovate, deeply cordate at base, not lobed or angular but usually crenulate to denticulate; fruiting pedicel coiling from the middle or base.
