Άκανθα η ακανθώδης L. (Acanthus spinosus)
Differing from A. mollis in the following characters: Up to 80 cm tall; lower leaves oblanceolate in outline, 2-pinnatifid with small lobes extending along petiole; veins rigid, whitish, produced into sharp spines; bracts tough, strongly spiny-dentate; capsule very hard and woody, brown and ± shiny when ripe.
