Trifolium boissieri Guss.

Slender, suberect annual 10–30 cm tall, single-stemmed or sparingly branched from base, sparsely pilose to glabrescent. Stipules broadly lanceolate, free part rather short, triangular. Leaflets obovate to elliptical, the terminal distinctly petiolulate, all shallowly dentate in upper half. Peduncle shorter than or equalling subtending leaf. Heads several, 15–25-flowered, subglobose, c. 15 mm in diam.; pedicels c. 1.5 mm. Calyx tube 5-veined, glabrous; teeth very unequal. Corolla 6–9 mm, yellow, persistent and fading brownish; standard slightly keeled.

A very variable species, resembling M. littoralis and M.truncatula, but generally distinguished on the legumes, which are densely covered with multicellular, glandular and eglandular hairs obscuring the veins on surface of coils.

Μονοετές; βλαστοί 10-50 cm, με τρίχες κολλημένες, λίγοι, ο ένας συχνά ψηλότερος και άκμπτος όρθιος, οι άλλοι μικρότεροι και ανερχόμενοι διακλαδισμένοι απο τη βάση. Φυλλάρια (10-)20-80 Χ (1-)2-4 mm, ευθυτενή-λογχοειδή, μυτερά; παράφυλλα λογχοειδή-σουβλερά. Κεφάλια (15-)20-80 mm, μονήρη, ωοειδή ή κωνικά-κυλινδρικά; Κοτσάνια άνθους (10-)20-40(-60) mm. Τα δόντια του κάλυκα περίπου ίσα, ευθυτενή ή σουβλερά, στο τέλος φανερά, βλεφαριδωτά, η άκρη λεία με λίγες κοντές τρίχες. Άνθος 10-12 mm, ροζ, μικρότερο ή ίσο με τα δόντια του κάλυκα. Ξηρές τοποθεσίες; calcifuge (δεν αναπτύσσεται σε ασβεστούχα εδάφη).
