Digitaria sanguinalis (L.) Scop.

15–40 cm. Leaf blade 2–4 mm wide, sparsely pilose on. Annual, usually with several, geniculately ascending, rather robust culms 15–40 cm, rooting at the lower nodes. Leaves rather short, 3–8 mm wide, flat and soft; ligule 1–2 mm. Inflorescence of 4–10 digitately arranged, linear, slender, unilateral racemes p to 15 cm long. Rhachis triquetrous, narrowly winged, with pairs of narrowly elliptical, 2-flowered spikelets c. 3 mm. Lower glume minute, the upper 1/3–1/2 as long as spikelet.
