Οικογένεια: Κυπερίδες
Carex distachya Desf.
Densely caespitose; stems several, slender, 15–40 cm tall, bluntly trigonous. Basal sheaths brown. Leaves ± equalling stem, suberect, 0.5–1.5 mm wide, with setaceous apex, pale green to greyish-green. Spikes 2(–4), equal, remote, lax, few-flowered, with female flowers below and male above. Lower bract leaf-like, exceeding inflorescence. Utricles 4–6 mm, elliptical to broadly fusiform, with a flat side towards axis, usually almost veinless, narrowed into a short, usually smooth beak. Stigmas 3. Nutlet trigonous.
"An amazing species from the Mediterranean. Chater (1980) put it together with C. phyllostachys in the subgenus Indocarex, because of the bisexual spikes, male above, female below. Carex distachya is rather common on dry places in the Mediterranean, from Portugal to Turkey. It grows densely caespitose and has a long lowest bract, as in the photos by Giorgos... densely caespitose, without rhizomes. And female flowers with three stigmas." γράφει ο Jacob Coopman στην ομάδα CAREX στο fb. Περισσότερες πληροφορίες στα Χλωρίδα μας, Φυτολόγιο, greekflora.gr, Flora of Greece.
