Ασφόδελος ο κοίλος (Asphodelus fistulosus L.)
Annual or short-lived perennial with a fascicle of thick, fibrous roots (generally 2–3 mm in diam.). Leaves numerous, all basal, linear, somewhat fleshy, fistulose, c. half as long as plant, 2.5–4 mm wide at middle, slightly compressed, with minutely papillose angles. Scape erect, 30–60 cm tall, moderately branched above. Inflorescence lax; bracts small, scarious. Perianth segments 9–12 mm, elliptical, white or pale pink with purplish-brown midvein. Stamens equalling perianth segments; filaments asymmetrically swollen, white; anthers orange-brown. Style equalling or somewhat exceeding perianth segments; stigma capitate, 3-lobed, papillose, pink. Capsule c. 5 mm, broadly obovoid, smooth; fruiting pedicel 6–9 mm, with a joint just below middle, somewhat swollen above.
