Θύμος ο κεφαλωτός (Thymus capitatus (L.) Hoffmanns. & Link τώρα ονομάζεται Thymbra capitata (L.) Cav.)

Much-branched, bushy, rather rigid dwarf shrub forming dense, rounded cushions or mats, generally 30–60 cm tall. Leaves 4–10 mm, linear-lanceolate, subtriquetrous, gland-dotted and ciliate, with clusters of smaller leaves in their axils. Flowers in dense, ovoid-oblong, terminal heads; bracts broader than leaves, imbricate, concealing calyces. Calyx 4–5 mm; tube dorsally flattened, with 20–22 veins; upper lip shorter than lower; teeth ciliate. Corolla 7–10 mm, purplish-pink.
